I might be late to the game on my discovery of The Selby, featuring photographs, paintings and videos by Todd Selby of interesting people and their creative spaces, but I don’t care. I’m mad about it. I just discovered the site a few weeks ago, when Selby posted a pictorial of the inside of Julia Restoin Roitfeld’s New York apartment. I visited the site again today when I found a link to images of Sally Singer’s home in New York. That led me to cruise through the whole site, where I found some truly insipring images of artists, musicians, designers, models and hipsters. I urge you to check it out for yourself.

And while we’re talking food…

Clean Plate is a new phenomenon in Omaha. I’ve yet to attend one of Elle Lien’s brunches, but I really, really want to. This weekend she’s serving crepes! Yum. Check out the above images Omaha Photographer Dana Damewood captured at a recent gathering. Looks beautiful and delicious. And click here for more information on what Clean Plate is, how you can be a part of it and other information about this pretty cool idea.

Renner in review

renner2Last weekend, I went to one of the two Paul Renner dinners at the Bemis Center. What a night that was. I knew it was going to be a memorable experience when I saw the installation on the opeing night of his show; and even though I thought I was prepared, I really wasnt. I’ve been a vegetarian for nearly two years, so I found the emphasis on meat a bit unsettling, especially as I knew I’d have to sit at the table and participate. After giving it a lot of thought, I decided to forgo my qualms about eating meat for one night, in the name of fine art and having an experience.

I wrote a guest “Dish” column in the Reader this week about the experience.

Did you attend a Renner dinner? If so, what did you think?
